The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) has ratified a new collective agreement with Western New York – Pennsylvania Railroad LLC (WNYP), as the union announced today. “I thank President Moore, Vice President Martin and Vice-President Twombly for playing a leading role in the successful implementation of this one-year round of negotiations on a ratified agreement,” said Dennis R. Pierce, President of BLET. “I also thank the NYS-W membership for playing its part in the electoral process.” The agreement runs until 2025 and provides for wage increases of about 25 percent over the life of the contract. It includes an immediate increase in wages and general wage increases of USD 2 per hour, effective until January 1, 2025 as of January 1, 2025. In addition, the contract requires an additional payment for each journey of the remote control obligation. The five-year contract governs the rules of pay, performance and work for some 45 members. The agreement provides for retroactive salaries and general wage increases each year until January 1, 2024. It also offers a higher certification payment for the… omotive engineers. With respect to benefits, the contract provides for additional paid leave (PTO) for all members and members who have been working for 25 years or more receive a sixth week off.
